Introduction to Urban Space & Place

Urban Elements and Pauses

This course was an introduction to the various important aspects of urban spaces and how can one look at these spaces objectively. It looked into the major and important observations one can make on-site and how to make them. Small-scale research was done and a paper was written where we applied the knowledge of the observations we learnt to make and the case studies that we went through during the lectures. Multiple maps were seen throughout the duration of the course and various mapping techniques were applied by different students in class. Reading responses were written for every lecture.
