The CEPT foundation program consisted of various exercises spread across the semester including a field studio that helped in understanding and learning the basic skills needed for design thinking.

The streets of ‘Meer Ghat’ located in Varanasi were studied for the CFP field studio of 2019. A map was made highlighting the street spaces covering the facades on both sides while also sketching all important and noticeable features that makes the streets of Meer Ghat unique when compared to others. Parameters like street space, effect of space, number of shrines, their cultural impact and drainage were studied.

Model making skills were explored by making a sectional 1:200 scale model of the faculty of architecture building at CEPT and a cantilever structure made out of reed sticks and thread with a wooden support at one end.

While tackling a design problem a shelter for a yoga practitioner was designed at a river bank in jaisalmer which included the contours, plans at all three levels including the roof, an exploded view of the entire built structure and sections to understand levels and the facade.

An attempt to design a street with the help of diagrams for design strategies, which successfully accommodates the likes of the pedestrians, street side vendors, vehicular traffic and cyclists while also keeping the climatic conditions in mind.

Mapping the activities, locations of all user groups in the park, at the street edge and inside the lake in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh.
