Design of Silos

We have been assigned to design the battery of four silos made up of RCC . The filling material was maize and the cone position was regular. We then have to understand the behaviour of silo with different cases (full & empty). The connection between the silos is very important in this cases and the behaviour of stresses on the wall connecting them was understood. Then we designed the wall, ringbeam and hopper. Silo design was completely new subject and was very  interesting to explore the subject.
