The goal of the course was to improve representational and drawing abilities. The ability to discern spaces in the context of far and close was cultivated through exercises like creating plans and space sections with the appropriate line weights. Creating isometric perspectives contributed to a deeper comprehension of the spaces. All of the exercises—including the one concerning the staircase—come together to tackle a design problem that unites the students' talents and abilities and exposes them to the design process for the first time.
