Under the overarching theme of ‘Heritage and Local governance’ , the thesis focuses on nature-culture inter-linkages.  For generations, communities have developed systems of management to ensure that natural resources are maintained for longer use.  The research  explores to understand the nuances of these systems and link it to  a human-rights based that would mobilize local bodies towards conservation efforts.
The methodology focuses on the bio-cultural approach, that aims to holistically sustain biodiversity resources, cultural connections and community practices.
