Insurgent Public Spaces

The course focuses on understanding the concept of insurgencies in public spaces i.e. How is public space used? Is it used for the purpose it was intended for or has its use changed according to the needs of the people? This concept was identified at two sites - Ellis bridge and Law garden in Ahmedabad. While such use of space can be considered illegal, over time the line between legal and illegal blurs as people make space their own.
