What if climate change was not the problem, but a symptom of another issue? What if the mainstream lenses used to understand concepts such as land and water were keeping urban practitioners oblivious to the source of the problem? This project presents Mathur and da Cunfdfha’s innovative theoretical framework and cartographic explorations, which challenge the status quo of ecological imaginaries and urban sustainability that frame natural events as exceptional by proposing a wetness-centred approach, instead of a land-centric design paradigm.
