Gated communities have emerged as a prominent trend in urban development across India, representing a shift towards enclosed residential enclaves offering safety, security, and status. This research explores the implications of this phenomenon on the urban landscape of Ahmedabad, focusing on its drivers, challenges, and impacts. With gated communities becoming integral features of urban areas, understanding their dynamics is crucial for promoting inclusive and equitable urban development. The research addresses the need for comprehensive study by investigating the relationship between the increasing prevalence of gated communities and broader urban development challenges in Ahmedabad.
