The studio will examine landscape spaces through the lens of 'living systems', acknowledging their interconnectedness with the surrounding context and their ability to adapt and integrate into a larger whole. The concept of landscapes as dynamic entities, continuously evolving and manifesting changes, will be investigated, with a focus on planting as the key component. Students will explore planting as integral parts of systemic structures, collaborating with other elements to create a diverse range of functions and experiences. In addition to their functional roles and aesthetic appeal, planting becomes increasingly significant within its designed context and in relation to biotic elements. The course empowers students to envision and develop landscape designs tailored to specific sites, employing various design scales and effectively communicating their proposals that are contextual.
