WindShade : Kinematic plug-in for Goa, India

Modern architecture has introduced transformable spaces and structures responding to various factors. The project - WindShade, is a kinematic plug-in designed for hot-humid climatic zones primarily. It responds to stuffy weather, frequent rains and extreme need of ventilation by the means of a secondary facade protecting the building from direct heat and light. A louver system allows controlled light, ventilation and a semi-open space to be used in harsh weather. Easy to build, it works on a mechanism of easily available fixtures like pivots, pulleys, tension strings. Usage is by pushing out lower arm to a desired extent.
