This studio targets to join the gap between academics and practical world where students can explore their ideas with the help of different materials and transform them into reality through prototypes and models. This studio focuses on detailing of different Interior making elements like Paneled Doors, Windows, Gates, Paving Details,Furniture elements, etc. This studio will help students to enhance their knowledge in designing and detailing of different elements.
Design detailing relies on developing a thorough understanding and sensitivity to every characteristic of the designed object including : its purpose and function; mechanism of operation; the material from which it is made; the method of assembly and fabrication; finishes and ornamentation.
The Studio will first analyze, in detail, the design and construction of a range of crafted and manufactured traditional and contemporary artifacts, through sketching, technical drawing, modeling and construction of full-scale prototypes.
The studio demands the basic software knowledge of AutoCAD and Google SketchUp to communicate efficiently. Hands on workshop skills are required throughout the course timeline to meet the desired outcome. Model and Prototype making is the core of this studio.
