The project is about designing the Bollywood Museum in the given site, Kala Academy, Goa. The design is inspired from the typical characteristics of Bollywood - Music and Dance. The layout of the museum is derived from the interpretation of the music/songs of different genres in the Bollywood. The areas of the museum have been divided into different components of the Bollywood. The design is been approached in two ways - Era based and Genre based. The Era based spaces are the components that best describes about the evolution of elements with time and the genre based are the spaces that are best described through the different emotions. The museum has various types of exhibits that also includes experiential and participatory activities hence keeping the user engaged and curious about the next space he/she enters in the museum.
The concept of the museum is inspired from typical characteristics of bollywood movies i.e music and dance. The spaces are designed from the abstract derived after listening to music. The spaces in the museum is based on two approaches, one through Era Based and other through genre based. The components - Music and Choreography, History, Costume, Script - Screenplay, Cinematography and makeup are Era based while Set Design, Music editing and VFX are genre based.
