The studio focuses on learning the methodology of computational design through evolving the selected housing typology. Taking Shibam’s climate and social fabric into consideration certain analysis have been done on the existing typology. Criteria such as plaza exposure, facade exposure and volume are chosen on basis of this analysis. Hypothesis is created and then tested through certain experiments to see if the typology is benefited through the change or not. Here plaza exposure is more important to the social fabric as social gathering happened in the space. So this criteria is taken forward and analyzed in more detail to further minimize the exposure on plaza. Similarly for further evolving the typology, facade can also be experimented individually through the references given at the end.
