A Case of Colonial Building: Ahmedabad GPO

Gujarat Circle GPO is located in the World Heritage site, walled city area of Ahmedabad; itself demonstrates the cultural significance. This colonial building was commissioned by PWD Bombay in 1916 and is mainly known for its regional influence 'Indo-Sarcenic style of Architecture.' The building is significant as it is an early concrete building with the use of local stone as well. The addition of its extension building continuous to be a threat but has been impacted very less on the original structure which makes it more significant. Therefore, my proposal intents on upgrading its services and preparation of maintenance guidelines.
