Designing for Pedestrian Mobility in Chamartin, Madrid

The Project is an urban level intervention, designed to create pedestrian mobility and accessibility from the Chamartin Metro and Train station, part of the Madrid Nueve Norte development plan.  The intervention develops networks from the station and the adjoining cultural centre at multiple levels and is structured into three parts - all connected by the pedestrian pathways. The residential and cultural and commercial interventions are raised above an existing unused and undeveloped urban park to the West, while an urban park space is created on the East, over unused land of the station. The interventions are at varying levels.
