JUMP box- Beyond traditional sports amenity center

As the studio brief instructs every student had to pick a community in Ahmadabad from the five that were offered. The settlement around Sarkhej Roze was chosen and studied. The challenges of the site were mapped. Based on the observation and study the following proposal was developed. Every house at Sarkhej have minimum of 3 to 5 children. These children have no safe place to play. They were seen playing on the roads between the vehicles. They play anywhere possible and with anything they find, from sticks to stones. There was no facility available to channelize this energy of the children into something more productive. Mandela said in 2000: "Sport has the power to change the world. It has the power to inspire. It has the power to unite people in a way that little else does. It speaks to youth in a language they understand. Sport can create hope where there was only despair." The Vision of the project is to get people of all different ages interested and enthused about sport and exercise in daily life. Jump box a sports amenity center made from shipping containers. It is beyond any traditional sports complex. The focus is to channelize the energy of the kids. The project has used elements of play and fun to connect the Kids with Sports.
