It provided a comprehensive coverage of the theoretical and practical aspects of the subject and included the latest developments in the field of concrete construction. It was designed to provide students with a detailed understanding of concrete as a material for construction and various ingredients of it.
Various exercises were conducted individually and in groups to test and understand the properties of raw materials, identify new materials and different types of concrete as well as producing concrete, carrying out tests on its properties and understanding its behavior at various stages. Students also went through a special exercise of designing and delivering a concrete product by creating a contractor and client scenario. Each individual student also proposed an application for a special concrete identifying costs, material requirements, environmental impacts and benefits
