An Institution - A Play of Nature and the Built

Shreyas campus, situated on a tekra with lush greens, transitions itself away from the chaotic city of Ahmedabad. The built forms always stay in the background and one can see nature somehow taking over the artificial. The existing buildings designed by B.V. Doshi and Kamal Mangaldas smoothly blend in with nature, giving us a nice homogeneous environment. The program is of a small institution for 30 children of varied age groups who will stay here for around 15-20 days.  The focus of the program is to use natural elements for light, wind, and trees without much artificial construction. The project retains the forest and tries to play with what exactly the site offers. The project is an amalgamation of various spaces like workshop spaces, places to study, place for accommodation, and play that encourage children to be self-dependent.
