Exploring Through the Creases

The project aimed on developing kinetic surfaces from flat ones by using orthographic drawings and techniques like centre fold and then later use the skill to solve design problems. Initially, cubes were made using centre fold technique and then cuboids were made using plan and elevations. Then these two were combined to form their compositions which were steps. All of these were combined together to form complex compositions and then we got the exposure to various artists like Ingrid Siliakus who use similar technique to creat artworks. These artists were studied and then installations were made after decoding their style in this art form. A self reflective artwork was also created and then all the pop techniques were used to create a story book. Modern furniture classics from 90s were studied and they were developed in pop up versions. In the end all these skills were used to develop interior elements and tackle the design problems which were faced during the development of the elements.
