Foundation Design for Overhead Water Tank

Through a foundation design pedagogy, the studio aimed to have an insight into the details of Geotechnical Engineering. In order to gain a fundamental comprehension of the subject, several topics were explored. After that, a site visit to Vadodara was conducted, where a borehole was drilled and the samples were collected. The samples were evaluated in the lab, and the data was used to construct an overhead water tank that could handle various loads. For the structure, suitable foundation systems such as Isolated, Raft, and Pile were chosen. The course also included soil improvement techniques.
