MAKERSPACE - hands on, minds on!

Pune has emerged as an Education and IT hub through the decades. With time, many hi-tech Manufacturing and IT companies, R&D centers, product development hubs have established here, and more companies continue to establish even today. The overall environment encourages innovation. The current situation of the education system consists of laboratories, computer labs, and electronics labs. These models allow primary experimentation and knowledge building. I imagine a future where these experimenting typologies become de-institutionalized and come to a neighborhood level. Makerspace is an evolving typology which brings all these learning, experimentation, and skill-building together in one place for the coming decade and hence a maker space. This becomes a hub for trying out ideas, making things, and a space for collaboration. Each of these spaces has its unique character which is very vibrant and energetic. The purpose of this makerspace is to support disruptive innovation.
