Enabling and Provisionary support for Rental Housing

Rental Housing plays a significant role within the larger aim of the housing strategy studio to expand housing choices for all income groups. Surat holds great potential to develop as a dynamic rental housing market. The greater share of migrants, prevailing housing shortage, unaffordability of home ownership, anticipated urban development, all contribute to the demand for rental housing. The  alternatives proposed as a part of this studio will assist in increasing the affordability of formal rental units, regulating the rental housing market, providing alternative rental formats and accelerating its growth to meet the demand.
