Darbaar

Darbaar is a project built on a clifftop in Mandu. This project is a play of different rhythms and pauses. Slow build-ups lead to fast-paced spaces inquisitive of what is to come, finally releasing a person into a space that urges them to pause, reflect and contemplate. These rhythms are translated from a form of Hindustani classical singing, called Dhrupad, that is known to have calming effects on a human brain due to the way it progresses. Subsequently, an evocative journey of highs and lows, ups and downs, build-ups and climaxes unfolds in the project.
