Samaj Vatika- Getting Together, Growing Together

Samaj Vatika or the ‘community garden’, is a public institution of holistic growth and development of the community of Virpura village. Aiming to remediate the vulnerabilities of women and children that inhabit the social and infrastructural fabric of the village, the programme promotes learning and leisure by community interactions. Standing as a symbol of flourishment and empowerment, the institute comprises of a Nari Sashaktikaran Kendra (a private gathering space for women), a learning space for children and a community library space, which facilitates equitable opportunity for all. With a play of public and private spaces wrapped around the existing site conditions, it enkindles dialogues within familiar spaces.
