Apparel Park is located near the Amraiwadi area, east of the Kankaria lake. It has a significant historical past but is now home to various industries, MSMEs, as well as commercial and residential regions. Post-construction of the metro station, the metro underbelly, as well as either side of the road has been significantly affected, hampering a lot of the informal activities in the area. The intervention is a Transit Hub, integrated with commerce, offices, and public amenities. The Transit Hub needs to meet specific criteria: A symbiotic relationship between the station and the users; A multi-faceted commercial hub, integrated with the industries and MSME’s in the area; The 150m long station, rather than isolating the user from the surroundings, incorporates the surrounding built and unbuilt area to create a landmark for Apparel Park.
