COMPACTA LEISURE

The goal of the studio was to become accustomed with the ply split braiding technique and to experiment with a new material. The journey to braiding began with the spinning of a cotton fibre into yarn. Then we learned all  the basic braids as well as ply-split braiding. Using all of the techniques learned, we created a three-dimensional container with a variety of base shapes. Using this traditional technique in a creative way, a furniture piece was designed that allowed me to experiment with wood, different joineries and combining two materials.
