Sonnerie- A Bell Making Studio

Situated in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, is a bell making studio. The bell making studio is a recreational space that explores making and testing of bells as a fun activity. Through the act of making, the space aims to explore the concept of making bells as a rejuvenating activity.
The sound of the hindu temple bell produces a sharp but lasting sound which lasts for a minimum of seven seconds, and it is also said to activate the 7 chakras of the body. The space utilizes this very aspect as its base concept to plan and design a recreational making space.

The space is an interactive and receptive making studio, that is space for people to learn, understand, make and experience the process of bell testing and assembly, through the senses of sight, sound and touch. The place encapsulates the sense of reverberation of sound through the senses and feel of the space, produced as a result of elements of space making and design decisions while attempting to make the act of making fun in a recreational space.
