Enhancing character of the CBD: M.G. Road, Bengaluru

Bengaluru's M.G. Road neighbourhood partially functions as a CBD at the moment. The area is regarded as the city's commercial, recreational, tourist, and entertainment hub. Integration of land use and transportation has become more critical with the construction of a new metro line. To compete with new, upcoming growth centres in the city, a local area plan with high-density mixed-use and transit-oriented development is put forth. Reduced block sizes, pedestrianized streets, vehicle disincentives, increased FSI, commercial arcades, etc., were proposed to improve the area's existing character and transform it into Bengaluru's Central Business District.
