Paani is a toolkit that assesses a community’s current flood resilience for the first two phases of DRM cycle (prevention/mitigation and preparedness). By strengthening the first two phases, the associated risks and emergencies of the other two phases (response and recovery) can be reduced to minimal. The application of Paani and findings from it indicates the areas that needs immediate attention for a specific community. By applying Paani to every flood vulnerable community and catering to the results will increase the Rajkot’s flood resilience by multiple fold.
