Transportation Project Studio

This semester's studio aims to understand the framework for conducting a feasibility study of a proposed Mass Rapid Transit System in a city. The city chosen for the purpose is Rajkot, Gujarat. The students researched various MRT systems, technologies, and applications in the Indian and global contexts. For the proposals, Three types of transit modes were considered based on the prior research of different MRT systems: Light Capacity Metro, Bus Priority/Bus Rapid Transit System, and Metro-Neo. The students studying the Metro system concentrated on the feasibility of a Light Capacity Metro for Rajkot. This portfolio focuses on modeling demand, fleet calculation, project phasing and social impacts.
