Preliminary Load calculations & understanding of problem statement as well as accurate STaad Modelling is a must. Following this, a behavior analysis of Model helps in much accurate member designing (manual). Connections detailing is specifically important for any steel structure in particular. Cost - Benefit optimizations are also to be taken into consideration.
