Design of Industrial Structures

The objective of the industrial studio was to study the requirements of various types of projects, loading, behaviour of those structures under various loads, and along with its design and detail such structures. The allotted projects were a Cement mill (staging structure), a Concentric silo, and an RCC chimney. Wind loads, seismic loads, and other loads were calculated using various codes. Load combinations were made to assess the variation of stresses. Load calculations & member designs were done in spreadsheets along with working in the STAAD Pro software. Detailing was done based on the design carried out.
