Analyzing Sustainability of Dwelling & Materials

In the Engineering Sustainability Studio course, we were introduced to basic technologies and analytical techniques for designing data-driven energy efficient buildings. The primary focus of course was studying the thermal and luminous behavior of buildings. The course also intends to make the student aware of ECBC, IGBC, LEED, GRIHA, etc. various rating programs for sustainable building. We also designed and made models of 1 m³ volume of different materials to do a comparative study of concepts like heat gain, heat transfer, etc. and the equipment used were thermal sensors and hygrometer. The material assigned to our group was Aerocon Panels.
