Land Surface Temperature is the measure of the radiative skin temperature of the earth’s surface. It is an essential climate variable. In this study, Santa Barbara DISORT Radiative Transfer Model (SBDART) is used to calculate the Outgoing Longwave Radiation and then derive LST from the same. The SBDART results are compared to satellite (MODIS) retrieved Land Surface Temperatures. The results from modelling are used to identify the wards within the study area where urban green spaces could be proposed to lower the surface temperature.
