URBAN GROWTH MODELLING : A CASE STUDY OF AHMEDABAD CITY

The study deals with the land-use planning issues. Ahmedabad is likely to witness population growth of more than 1crore by the year 2030. This rapid growth in population will create challenges for the governing agencies about provision of basic service infrastructure for its people. Using geospatial analysis the past LULC patterns are created. The modelling approach was used to simulate future scenarios under the influence of various urban growth driving factors. The outputs will be utilized to study waterlogging issues. The developed insights might be helpful for the governing bodies for better decision making regarding area-based planning for the future.
