URBAN GROWTH MODELLING: A CASE STUDY OF AHMEDABAD CITY

An urban growth model is a particular type of numeric model that involves economics, geography, sociology and statistics to explore the mechanisms of urban evolution and feedback of the urban system. A better understanding of the urban growth process and its effect on the environment is essential for efficient urban management. In this study MOLUSCE model has been used which is a plugins of QGIS. Different types of satellite images and other driving factors are used to forecast the urban expansion for the year 2030.
