HIGH-RISE HOSTEL

A high-rise hostel project was undertaken to learn the integrated construction practices. Various BIM and Lean concepts in this studio were implemented to get more significant outcomes than we would have with conventional methods. Roles such as architect, structural consultant, MEPF consultant, contractor, or BIM coordinator had been assigned to the individuals. The BIM execution plan for this hostel project was developed to put BIM strategies into actual practice. Following the modelling phase in BIM execution, other important use cases include quantity take-off, 4D and 5D simulations, and other technologies like AR and VR were performed. Better results were achieved at the end of the process as a consequence of implementing BIM and Lean principles, an IPD strategy throughout the process. Some of the individual works of the architect & BIM coordinator are compiled and presented in this portfolio. QR codes put up in the presentation helps in better understanding of the process followed through some videos.
