Rap Gully - Performing arts library (MUMBAI)

This centre located in Chowpatty (Mumbai) is for all sects of society. It is a fun centre designed to give info about the daily lives and problems of Mumbaikars through Rap Music. This place combines the enjoyment of both STREET RAP and CONCERTs together with an Auditorium and a small performance area, and nooks to enjoy the stage experience. A book library and a cafe add to the educational and recreational value of the space. The whole space has a BOLD and UPFRONT feel in its concrete and exposed rebar language. This language has been carried on the QUIRKY CURVED structure. It interestingly forms many narrow paths(Gullies)the space uses both CLOSED structures, and a completely SEMI OPEN structure open to everyone The intent was to make a ‘Merged’ centre with no restrictions.
