Furniture for Public Space-Institutions

The studio primarily focused on outdoor furniture for institutional spaces.
The studio begins with examine the aspects of design efficiency in furniture.
Meaning of efficiency in technical field: The ratio of the useful work
performed by a machine or in a process to the total energy expended or heat
taken in.
The traditional—Spend, Design, Build, Wait and Watch model of design
process is changing to the agile- Experiment, Prototype, Scale and Grow
quickly… and keep iterating. For design education, they suggest the value of
teaching that beauty and efficiency can be combined in designing and
experiencing a product or service; they also trigger a reflection on meansand effect-based teaching approaches.
The second part of the studio will be focus on constrains of human behavior
with respect to furniture design in outdoor or public spaces. Students will first
build logical argument/s to arrive at design solution for outdoor furniture.
