Lifeline of the WEST : HSR Station area Plan for Surat

Countries with high-speed rail (HSR) networks are more competitive and attractive to tourists, businesses, and skilled workers. India's Bullet Train project, once completed, will boost India's economy by putting India at the forefront of technology and connectivity, attracting foreign investment, creating new businesses, and improving people's lives. The Surat High speed rail (HSR) station is the first greenfield HSR station in India and the first one to complete in the Mumbai-Ahmedabad HSR corridor. Surat, already being an important economic hub of the country needs to be prepared for a technological marvel like HSR. Hence to guide the future development potential of the station area, which will act as a growth magnet in future, and accommodate the regional impact of HSR  there is a need to rezone the area at Surat and prepare a micro plan so as to make the HSR station area future ready in terms of infrastructure.
