LPADS - Thirumazhisai,Chennai

Chennai, like many other growing cities, is experiencing rapid urbanization. A land pooling scheme can help manage and plan urban growth more effectively, ensuring that development occurs in a coordinated and sustainable way. As a part of the studio exercise, land pooling area development scheme for Thirumazhisai was undertaken. In order to devise a proposal, the study area was analysed based on various factors that affect urban development. Based on the inferences drawn from the analysis, planning proposals were detailed out. The study area was further divided into smaller parts for implementation through land pooling scheme. Land pooling allows for efficient planning and development of infrastructure on a larger scale, leveraging funds and avoiding the challenges of fragmented development. Pooling resources allows for shared costs among landowners and reduces the financial burden on authorities, making micro level planning more financially viable.
