LIGHTING AND INTEGRATED DESIGN LAB

The Lighting and Integrated Design Lab, in collaboration with Whole Building Design, examined strategies for optimal daylight, views, and reduced sunlight glare in the LMCP building in Ahmedabad. The report assessed annual energy consumption, incorporating Energy Conservation Building Code (ECBC) measures for efficiency. Design stages encompassed an ECBC standard case and a proposed case with features like high U-value walls, Solar Reflectance Index (SRI) paint, and an optimized Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) HVAC system. This integrated approach ensures energy efficiency and occupant well-being, aligning with stringent codes. The learning module covered daylighting evaluation, facade iterations, and a comprehensive building design module addressing energy-saving strategies for enhanced operational efficiency.
