The Lighting and Integrated Design Lab presented a comprehensive educational module encompassing diverse aspects of sustainable design. This included the assessment of daylight utilization for optimal daylight distribution, and a concentrated effort to contextualize and minimize energy consumption. Strategies proposed ranged from climate assessments to envelope designs, optimization of daylight usage, enhancement of ventilation and HVAC systems, and integration of renewable energy sources. The course prioritized overall building performance and energy optimization, aspiring to attain net-zero energy consumption through innovative design approaches and technologies.
