The study examines informal temporary structures and unfolds the different layers of their making, materials, and social interaction. The study helps to understand the levels of temporary architecture by observing several examples in urban streets. How the surrounding permanent elements contribute to the informal structures in the overall urban fabric. Informal setups display a new and interesting way of making temporary structures in terms of span, material, and use of space; a term called ‘jugaad’ describes their unique system of making. The framework of analysis introduces new parameters to understand these setups in a sensitive manner.
