Matrix|Tessellation|Aquatic sports centre

The studio entails viewing the architectural experience as a collection of interconnected systems created via the process of material exploration using structural tectonic assembly. The studio involves case study of a sports centre, redesigning of spanning system for a case study through the process of tessellation, followed by a design of a sports arena, including a multi sports facility and an aquatic sports centre. Different types of Spanning for long span systems and materials were explored. Final design was a compilation of learnings from the beginning. Olympic size pool and diving pool is proposed for swimmers of Ahmedabad. Building is articulated by exposing all the structural members. Climatic conditions, circulation, forces acting on the structures were studied while designing a swimming centre.
