Evolution of European Sculptures

ENAGAFE | EXPLORE | INTROSPECT
Sculptures, one of the most prominent forms of self-expression, significantly evolved in Europe over centuries. The user travels between three eras chronologically, Neoclassical, Modern, and Contemporary, each space design corresponding to the primary ideas of the Era and its sculptural material, technique, characters, etc. Each Era represents different characters and events based on the story of the time. As sculptures are monolithic volumetric exhibits, the design gives users a complete experience of each sculpture from various angles, distances, and levels, thus keeping them curious and engaged. Using diffused daylight as a visual guide, the users are able to navigate the space through continuous vertical members of the monolithic interior element. Parameters such as expansion-contraction of volumes, daylight, site angles, viewing distances, range of view, user orientation, circulation loops, etc. transform into design decisions.
