Pathways of Perception

The interior design for the Trompe l'oeil art and sculpture exhibition at Fondazione Prada in Milan is a unique and innovative approach to create immersive and engaging spaces for visitors. The design is developed by the concept of vector fields, which are mathematical representations of the forces that shape the interior volume through which a sense of movement is created that draws the eye. Using this approach, a series of interconnected spaces are created to provide visitors with different experiences, using both tangible and intangible parameters. The design contextualizes site, program, brand, art, and neighbourhood factors, creating a space that reflects the unique cultural and social context. This analysis was integrated into certain design decisions like where the exhibits should be placed and the type of approaches that should be made to get an optimum design. The design of each space is informed by a specific approach to vector fields and visual perception, resulting in a diverse range of visually striking and emotionally engaging environments. Some spaces are designed with a focus on smooth, flowing lines, while others incorporate sharp angles and sudden shifts in direction. Each space is carefully crafted to create a distinct mood or atmosphere to enhance the overall experience.
