DESIGN INTERVENTION USING INDIAN CRAFTS IN RETAIL SPATIAL EXPERIENCE

While building crafts has been an essential part of Indian Architecture for centuries, it's more in the last few decades that the building and interiors have been largely devoid of such interventions, leading to create spaces devoid of ‘cultural context’.
While commercial Retail spaces boast of creating experience and connecting visitors with regional and cultural context, it's seldom seen them adopting an effective medium of using ‘local/regional crafts’ as part of its spatial construction.
Creating Retail spaces with effective intervention of building crafts can be a tool to create everlasting and more contextual experiences for visitors and customers and a ‘pride’ for brands and retailers.
