Bhavnagar is the research case city near Alang, the world's largest shipbreaking yard. Bhavnagar's economy is mainly based on shipbreaking, a byproduct of the downstream sector. The study aims to look into the working and living circumstances of women in this profession in Bhavnagar's Kumbharvada and Moti Talav neighborhoods. Begun with a literature review to better understand the shipbreaking industry and why Alang became one of its most important places. Primary surveys, targeted group discussions, questionnaires, and structured interviews with women and other stakeholders were conducted to better understand the present status of women employees. The study aims to identify solutions for these women that would stabilize their source of income and enhance their employment, health, and well-being.
