Post Occupancy Evaluation: A – Case of Kartavya Path, Delhi B – Case of CG Road, Ahmedabad

After years of rigorous design development and execution process, two project: Kartavya Path in Delhi and CG Road in Ahmedabad have seen the light of the day. The uniqueness about these two projects is that they were already popular landmarks of their respective cities bustling with people and activities on day-to-day basis much before they were taken up as urban design projects and redeveloped.
Post occupancy evaluation is a standard part of urban design and architecture practice. The research shall involve undertaking evaluation of these projects to identify and assess critical aspects of the project performance. It shall identify the problems which were identified to be addressed through urban design proposals, their actual on ground implementation and implication. Further, it shall also undertake the performance feedback of the project from the users. The research shall help to develop design guidance for future projects of similar nature and also value add the continuous improvement of a public place in both the projects.
